Kim Rivers joins us now.
She is CEO at True Leave Cannabis Corp.
She and her team just ringing the closing bell down here at the big board a few minutes ago.
Nice to see you today.
Thanks for taking some time.
Yes, thanks so much for having us.
So the first US cannabis company listed here at the New York Stock Exchange.
I've been down here for almost 10 years.
I feel like we've been building to this moment for a really long time.
What does this mean for you and your team?
Yes, you know, I mean, obviously this is a monumental and tremendous day for Truly, but it's honestly bigger than that.
We have built an amazing company.
We serve thousands of people every single day and employ thousands of people as well.
But really when you think about what this means for the industry and the fact that we now can participate in the biggest financial market in the globe, it really is historic and so much bigger than just Tru leaf.
Can you give me some sense about what the regulatory road has looked like to get here because we've seen the headlines looking at it from the outside.
I'm sure it's been far more difficult.
For you than the rest of us could even imagine to have a day like today.
Yeah, well, I mean, you know, it really is about empowering individuals in the United States to take more control of their healthcare journey and thankfully states across the country have recognized that we have over 40 states who have passed some sort of medical cannabis law, but credit to the president and to this administration for taking decisive action and moving this across the finish line with an executive order and then a final administrative order rescheduling medical cannabis.
Allowing companies like ours access to the exchange and also for additional research.
So again, this is a new chapter and it's day one.
How about some other policy changes out of Washington from the regulators, the powers that be on Capitol Hill and in the administration to finally make this a reality after so many years of potential conversations to get here?
Yes, I mean the fact that now we're looking at the ability to actually talk with investors in the United States to have meaningful.
Full conversations that they can actually invest in a US company.
We are now US domiciled, right?
And, and the fact that again we are participating in the world's largest capital market is really very exciting.
We're gonna be the first of many, so, uh, you know, stay tuned, um, as an industry we're, we're coming, and I would also say that as we move the move forward on banking, we also have broader rescheduling that's coming this fall.
So US Cannabis is here to stay.
And again, what I say is.
Cannabis has been in the United States for a long, long time.
The question is, you know, do we want to have regulated, safe, tested products, or do we want to have products that folks are getting from the black market?
And thankfully, the federal government, along with state policy, is finally, uh, keeping up with, with patience and with the times.
Well, the ticker symbol is TRLV.
A nice day today, a popping shares, 2.3%.
Kim Rivers, CEO of True Leave, congratulations.
Thanks for taking a few extra minutes for us here on the show.
Thanks so much.
