Prediction Markets See a 55% Chance the 10 Year Treasury Hits 5.4%

Treasury yields are pushing toward levels not seen in decades as investors weigh softer economic data and the Federal Reserve’s next moves. FINTECH.TV correspondent Mark Payton joins Remy Blaire live from the Cboe trading floor as the 10 year Treasury yield trades around 5.25%, near its highest level since 2007.

Prediction market traders are now weighing whether yields could climb even further. Payton breaks down Polymarket pricing that puts the probability of the 10 year Treasury yield reaching 5.4% before the end of the year at roughly 55%, with inflation, oil prices, the labor market and Fed policy among the factors that could shift those odds.

Meanwhile, Cboe and S&P Dow Jones Indices announced a 25 year extension of their exclusive licensing agreement through 2051. The agreement preserves Cboe’s exclusive rights to offer its flagship S&P 500 Index options and could pave the way for new products, including potentially tokenized option contracts.
