Prediction Markets See a 94% Chance of a U.S. China Tariff Deal

Stocks remain under pressure as investors weigh higher Treasury yields against signs of resilience in the U.S. economy. FINTECH.TV correspondent Mark Payton joins Remy Blaire live from the Cboe trading floor with the S&P 500 and Russell 2000 trading lower, the VIX around 16 and the 10 year Treasury yield near 5.16%.

Markets are also watching Washington as President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping prepare to meet. Payton breaks down prediction market expectations for a potential U.S. China tariff agreement, with Polymarket traders assigning a 94% probability to an agreement by the end of the year and about a 90% probability by the end of October.

The prediction market requires an official mutual agreement involving tariffs rather than simply positive talks. With tariffs, agricultural purchases, aircraft, rare earth minerals and AI among the issues discussed, traders will be watching closely to see whether developments from the meeting shift those probabilities.
