Nvidia Earnings Could Move More Than Just AI Stocks

Markets are treading water as investors await Nvidia’s latest earnings and guidance. Tim Anderson, Managing Director at TJM Investments, joins the discussion to assess whether Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang or Fed Chair Kevin Warsh could have the bigger impact on markets through the rest of the year.

Anderson argues that the Fed may be closer to an interest rate cut than another hike, despite core PCE inflation remaining above the 2% target. He also points to relatively contained oil prices as a potential sign that inflationary pressures could continue to ease.

Beyond Nvidia, investors are watching companies including Okta, CrowdStrike, Salesforce and Pure Storage for clues about the broader AI buildout. Anderson cautions investors not to react too quickly to headline earnings, emphasizing that the real market signal may come from management commentary during the earnings call.
