Stocks are bouncing back after a shaky start to the session, with the S&P 500 opening about 80 points lower before turning higher. FINTECH.TV contributor Errol Coleman joins Johny Fernandez live from the trading floor in Chicago to break down the midday action and what prediction market traders expect from the World Series.
Coleman says the Nasdaq dipped in the morning and the S&P 500 opened lower before a quick turnaround, with the market consolidating for about an hour amid indecision before putting in a new leg to the upside. He says fear is slowly starting to subside but has not fully come down, and that the market is showing more green than it has over the last five to seven days.
With third quarter earnings season set to ramp up next week and the World Series kicking off between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Milwaukee Brewers, Coleman says Polymarket is pricing in roughly a 64% chance that Milwaukee wins the series, compared with 36% for Tampa Bay. Having lived in Tampa for several years, he says he is siding with the Rays.
