Nasdaq Stays Range-Bound as Oil Draws Buyers and Traders Eye Q4 IPOs

The Nasdaq is trading in a tight, indecisive range at midday after a sharp sell-off on AI headlines and a strong premarket recovery that gave way to a slide back to the lows. FINTECH.TV contributor Errol Coleman joins Remy Blaire live from the trading floor in Chicago to break down the session and the IPO pipeline as markets move through the fourth quarter of 2026.

Coleman says the Nasdaq has been largely range-bound in the first hours of trading, with traders and investors looking for more follow-through before the close. He notes a bid in oil, with large buyers stepping onto the tape at around $90 a barrel, while the rest of the market has been relatively quiet.

With attention turning to a potential $2 trillion IPO from Anthropic this quarter, Coleman points to the recent SpaceX IPO as one of the largest on record and expects more conversations about historically large listings. He says traders are watching sports betting companies and prediction market platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket, and highlights how SpaceX headlines have been moving names like Verizon, Amazon, and AMC because of businesses like Starlink, adding that he is watching for a similar ripple effect when future IPOs launch.
