Why Banks Are Suddenly Paying Attention to Arbitrum

A.J. Warner, Chief Strategy Officer at Offchain Labs, the company behind Arbitrum, joins Johny Fernandez as Standard Chartered’s digital asset research team publishes a bullish report on Arbitrum, and as Robinhood builds its own blockchain on Arbitrum technology, making 2,000 stocks tradeable on-chain across 120 countries.

His explanation of what is actually happening in the market is the clearest available: the earliest DeFi conversations with traditional financial institutions were with one or two people in an innovation lab. Today every major financial institution has a digital assets team and they are not just exploring, they are building. Stablecoins were the first wave. Money market funds followed at 100x growth in two years. Tokenised stocks are next.

On what Robinhood Chain actually does, his answer cuts through the technical noise: instead of opening a brokerage arm in every jurisdiction, Robinhood makes assets available through a single tokenised standard with shared liquidity. One hub. 120 countries. The users do not know the difference, but the underlying infrastructure is faster, cheaper, and more composable.
