How Edge & Node Is Building Data Plumbing for Banks and AI

Every AI system depends on the infrastructure that moves data from where it sits to where models can use it, and Edge & Node is taking what it learned building blockchain data infrastructure and pointing it at financial institutions and AI. On Startup to Stock Exchange, Kristin Myers speaks with Rodrigo Coelho, CEO of Edge & Node, about The Graph, the company’s new enterprise platform AMP, and why AI agents need verifiable data.

Coelho, who joined as The Graph’s first employee in 2018, explains that blockchain data is not stored in an organized table format, forcing developers to reinvent the wheel to extract it, and that The Graph created a standardized protocol that has served trillions of queries over the years and still serves billions today. After becoming CEO last year, he says he narrowed the company’s focus to AMP, an enterprise product now sold to tier one financial institutions that uses SQL, open standards, and an open file format to plug into existing data pipelines for analytics, audit, and compliance. He says AMP complements data platforms like Snowflake and Databricks by piping normalized on-chain data into the environments institutions already use, supports private blockchains such as Canton, and can run on premise so institutions see only their own data.

Coelho says the plumbing of the global financial system is being rebuilt with stablecoin rails, and that AI systems need complete, accurate, and verifiable data, which AMP provides through cryptographic verification against the blockchain and a transparent audit trail. He adds that the platform is built for AI agents querying data at machine scale through MCP servers and handles blockchain reorganizations that can leave copied data inaccurate. Describing AMP as a conventional software business and the company’s shift as moving from hoodies to suits, he says he sees a multibillion-dollar opportunity ahead while staying focused on building a sustainable business.
