Further Ventures Led DFNS’s Series A, and DFNS Just Partnered With ADX

Robbie Nakarmi, Partner at Further Ventures, joins Lucy Gazmararian at the ADX as the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth-backed venture firm, originally a subsidiary of ADIC and now independent with Lunate as anchor investor, celebrates a landmark milestone: portfolio company DFNS has just partnered with ADX to bring wallet infrastructure and a tokenisation engine into the heart of the securities exchange.

His most important point is on what makes Further genuinely different from passive VCs: the firm has built companies inside its venture capital fund, which is unusual, and the DFNS story is the clearest proof. Clarice, Chris, and the team have been through many iterations, always on the leading edge technologically, and the ADX partnership reflects both DFNS’s technical maturity and a unique differentiator: full UAE data residency compliance, which is critical for UAE financial institutions.

On the outlook for digital assets and AI over the next 24 months, his read is precise: retail sentiment is negative but institutional sentiment is, in his words, terribly bullish. JP Morgan, Franklin Templeton, and BNY are all actively involved. Tokenisation is his number one mega theme. And quantum computing is an emerging threat to cryptography that big brains are already working on.
