Bitcoin rallies, Crypto stocks, Galaxy Quantum, Students betting

Bitcoin climbed back above $66,000 for the first time in more than a month, signaling renewed momentum across the crypto market as investors rotated back into risk assets. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent added to the optimism by saying the CLARITY Act is on the “one-yard line” and urging Congress to pass the long-awaited crypto market structure legislation before the August recess. Ethereum also moved higher, while smaller cryptocurrencies joined the broader rally. The positive sentiment spilled over into crypto-related equities, with Circle, Robinhood, and Strategy all posting strong gains. Meanwhile, digital asset investment firm Galaxy announced its new Bitcoin Quantum Readiness Initiative, committing up to $5 million in grants to support developers building post-quantum cryptographic tools. The initiative also brings together an advisory council of leading experts in quantum computing and cryptography to help prepare Bitcoin for future technological threats.

In other crypto news, new research from workforce infrastructure company CLASP found that prediction and betting markets are becoming increasingly popular among healthcare students. More than 70% of respondents reported using these platforms at least a few times a week, with many viewing them as a way to help fund their education.
