Ajeel Is Giving Saudi Industrial SMEs Raw Materials on Credit

Hisham Alsaleh, Co-Founder and CFO of Aajil, joins Raghda Ibraheem at Money 20/20 Riyadh as the Saudi fintech, backed by the Saudi Industrial Development Fund, tackles the most overlooked gap in industrial finance: manufacturers, contractors, and traders who need raw materials on credit for four months but can only get fifteen days from their vendors.

His diagnosis of the problem is the clearest in the conversation. Banks serve the sector but take three to four months to approve. Vendors provide short-term credit but cannot underwrite and cannot offer the amounts or durations SMEs actually need. Aajil sits in the middle, paying the vendor in cash and extending credit to the customer on their actual business cycle terms.

His most compelling proof point: SMEs that Aajil first onboarded four years ago with revenues of 10 to 15 million riyals now have revenues north of 150 million. Not a statistic about the sector, a direct result from 250 companies in the system.
