JD Durkin: David Moezidis joins us now, president and CEO of Benchmark. Not just an incredible guest, but a guest who just rang the closing bell at the big board. Good to see you, David.
David Moezidis: Thank you. Thank you for having me, JD. Nice to meet you.
JD Durkin: What was the experience like? I mean, what you just got to do up here at the New York Stock Exchange. CEOs, entrepreneurs, even politicians dream of getting to do this. What was it like for you and your team?
David Moezidis: It was incredible. It was absolutely incredible. And we’re really proud to be here representing 12,000 of our team members around the world that dedicate themselves to making our company a success. So it was proud to represent them.
JD Durkin: And for anyone who’s a bit unfamiliar with what that company is all about, how do you describe Benchmark and really some of your top priorities here this year?
David Moezidis: Sure, sure. I think the easiest way to describe the company is we partner with leading technology companies, and we help them design and manufacture, and we do that across a number of industries: medical, aerospace, defense, semiconductor, capital equipment, industrial, and advanced compute and communications. The products that we build are generally in highly regulated industries where we help protect lives, advance security, and enable critical technologies. As a company, we’re really proud we were involved when it matters.
JD Durkin: And I’m sure you’re equally proud of the growth. Record revenue recently reported, a higher outlook for the year. It’s all about future outlook. It seems like you’re doing really well there. Give us a quick recap. Biggest factors driving that growth as of late?
David Moezidis: Yeah, sure. Happy to. So we just reported last week $811 million, which was record revenue. As you stated, our non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.84, and that was a pretty significant growth as well, 35%. And fundamentally, we saw broad-based strength as a company. And that gave us the confidence to come in and raise our guidance for the full year and essentially commit to exceeding $3 billion.
JD Durkin: Your computing and comms business alone up 50%, semiconductor equipment up 30%. How much of this is the overall AI spending story, and how are you thinking about the particular sector of the market?
David Moezidis: Yeah, so I think there’s three elements to this story. And we could talk about the sectors and [unclear: “we’ll go into the string”], the elements really come down to the fact that we’ve been winning in the marketplace. Our go-to-market strategy has really played out nicely. We set out on this journey about three years ago, and now we’re watching it really come together nicely and we execute. I think fundamentally we’re seeing strength across the base, across all of our sectors that really matters. And kudos to our teams out there, because they’re executing really, really well, converting the bookings into revenue.
JD Durkin: You compete, excuse me, with much larger players. What sets Benchmark apart, and is being smaller maybe at times a bit of an advantage in the space?
David Moezidis: I would say so. And we’re showing that being smaller, we can move with agility. Fundamentally, the way we differentiate ourselves is [unclear: “complexities. Our lane”] and customers come to us for outcome. We focus on these five core markets. We really focus on being good in those five core markets, and it’s really paying off.
JD Durkin: David Moezidis, president and CEO of Benchmark. Congratulations on all the growth, all the success, and for ringing the closing bell. Good to see you here.
David Moezidis: Thank you very much. Thank you for having me.
JD Durkin: Come back. We’ll do it again soon.
