Remy Blaire: And with midday trade underway, let's go out to Chicago. FINTECH.TV contributor Errol Coleman joins us live from the Cboe trading floor.
Hi, Errol. Happy Friday to you again.
But in this noon hour, we are continuing to see the crypto markets as well as the major U.S. stock averages in the red.
So what are you monitoring in midday trade?
Errol Coleman: Maybe not.
So next week is going to be another big week for earnings, particularly in technology, with Apple and Palantir reporting on Monday, followed by AMD on Tuesday.
Now, Apple released their new iPhones. We're going to see demand for that, consumer spending, and maybe they talk a little bit about their AI strategy.
We're also going to have Palantir. They're going to talk about their AI adoption, their revenue growth and how they're going to be planning on monetizing.
AMD, Advanced Micro Devices, is going to have a lot of demand with the AI chips. They're going to be touching on data center growth and forward guidance.
Now, we just saw with Intel, the forward guidance wasn't too hot.
Then we're going to have SMCI, Super Micro Computer, talk about some of the AI infrastructure demand, servers and spending.
Now, we're going to be looking forward to it. There's a lot of volatility in the market.
And we're going to see if this extended downside slide is going to continue into today and potentially into next week, or maybe we get a slowdown and a potential rebound.
Remy Blaire: And Errol, of course, next week is a big week for earnings, as you mentioned.
But we also get a slew of economic data.
When we're looking ahead to next week, give us a sense of what Polymarket is focused on, especially as we count down to the midterm election.
Errol Coleman: Again, yeah. Again, we're going to be looking to the earnings into next week.
Again, I think Intel is going to be important. That's going to be almost like a forward-looking gauge we're going to use for Micron, SMCI and the overall semiconductor space.
So I think that's going to be a great barometer to keep your pulse on.
And then again, with volatility spiking at around 18, briefly getting above 20, we're going to see if this momentum is going to carry into next week.
But regardless of which side of the aisle that you're on, there's a lot of opportunity on the board.
And volatility is always a trader's best friend.
So I think the market overall is looking forward to the upcoming action.
Remy Blaire: Well, I appreciate your time this afternoon.
Thank you so much for joining us, and have a great weekend.
