Valvoline Sees More Room to Grow After 20 Years of Sales Growth

Valvoline is celebrating 40 years in retail service and 10 years as a publicly listed company at the New York Stock Exchange, but CEO Lori Flees says the company still sees significant room to grow. Flees joins JD Durkin after ringing the Closing Bell to discuss how the vehicle maintenance business has evolved and what comes next for Valvoline.

Flees says consumers are keeping their vehicles for an average of 12 years or longer while cars themselves are becoming increasingly complicated, creating continued demand for preventative maintenance. She also discusses Valvoline’s focus on quick, easy and trusted service, including its 15 minute stay in your car oil change and 18 point safety check.

Looking ahead, Flees says Valvoline is approaching 20 consecutive years of same store sales growth while its stores currently reach only 40% of the car park and hold around 6% share. She says that remaining opportunity gives the company confidence that its growth story can continue.
