Checkout.com Just Crossed $300 Billion in Processed Volume, and Agentic Commerce Is the Next Frontier

Rory O’Neill, Chief Marketing Officer at Checkout.com, joins Bassel Sabri at Money 20/20 Riyadh as the company surpasses $300 billion in processed volume in 2025, up 64% year on year, and sets its sights on the agentic commerce era.

His three-part framing of AI in payments is the clearest available: AI has always been in payments through data science and machine learning. Second, AI is now being deployed across every function that supports merchants. Third comes agentic commerce, where agents buy on behalf of consumers, which he says is still very early because trust infrastructure does not yet exist at scale.

His most honest observation: right now there are more protocols to support agentic commerce than there are actual agentic transactions. B2B micropayments between companies will likely be the first to go fully automated. And 98% of Saudi consumers want completely invisible payments.
