Bitcoin Nears $78K as Crypto Faces a Critical 48 Hours

Bitcoin is trading just below $78,000 as crypto markets prepare for a pivotal 48 hours in Washington. The Senate is set to hold a key procedural vote on the Clarity Act, requiring 60 votes to advance, followed by the Federal Reserve’s latest interest rate decision.

Brian Dixon, CEO of Off the Chain Capital, says the Senate vote would not represent final passage of the legislation but could clear the way for further negotiations. He also points to progress on an ethics provision as a potential positive development, while stressing the importance of establishing clear regulatory rules for the digital asset industry.

Dixon says regulatory clarity could unlock trillions of dollars in institutional capital currently sitting on the sidelines. He also highlights the SEC’s Project Crypto initiative and cooperation with the CFTC as signs that regulatory development is moving forward even if the Clarity Act faces delays.

With Bitcoin ETF inflows reaching roughly $3 billion last month, institutional investors are closely watching both Washington and the Federal Reserve. Dixon expects altcoins to face greater regulatory risk if the vote fails, although he believes any Bitcoin or broader crypto market pullback could be short term and says Bitcoin remains undervalued based on its network growth, infrastructure and increasing institutional adoption.
