Joining me now is Nick Johnson, CEO of MetaFast. He and his team just got off the bell podium, bringing about a close to today's trading here at the New York Stock Exchange. Nice to see you. Thanks for taking a few extra minutes for the show today.
Absolutely. Happy to be here.
Let's start first and foremost, an introduction to your work at MetaFast for anyone a bit unfamiliar. What brings you and the team down here to see us at the big board?
Well, first of all, we have spent the last two years transforming our company from where we used to be, traditionally known as weight loss in the traditional weight loss space, to a comprehensive metabolic health system. So we're here to celebrate the milestone of our new consumer brand, Trilovi. So we brought our incredible coaches here with us to celebrate the moment.
Why has metabolic health been overlooked? And if that's a general health and wellness category that's not really something people are paying attention to, why should that?
I think people's understanding of metabolism is like, well, when I was younger, I used to be able to eat that. And that's kind of where it ends, right? It's like, what is metabolism? What is metabolic health? Understanding it is not that complicated. We're here to educate and raise awareness around this. Why? Because it's how the body utilizes energy. It's the source of all of these things. So when we think about weight or we think about high blood pressure, we think about all of those types of things that are happening that are very common. You've got to go upstream and you've got to ask the question, what's actually going on in the body? And it comes down to your metabolism. Metabolic health is a huge space for us to explore.
Let's talk a bit more about the Trelevy launch. What is it and what sets it apart? Any parts of this that you really want people to take away?
What I want people to understand is that metabolic health is a journey. In our program, which is a comprehensive, holistic program, we start by resetting one's metabolism. We then refine the body composition to improve metabolic flexibility that we're gonna renew. In that phase, we're gonna focus on longevity, health span. putting back the life in our years. That's our program.
In this environment we are in, with the conversation about GLP-1 proliferation, it's been top of mind for the last 18, 24 months or so. Some people may see those headlines and wonder, does coaching still matter? Does it still have a place, given where we are today? How do you respond?
Coaching and accountability is here to stay, and let me tell you why. If you skip over the foundation of your lifestyle, it's how you nourish your body, it's how you move your body, it's the behavioral modification, it's how you build actually healthy habits into your life, and then you need increased accountability to stay accountable. I wish that you could just take something and have all of those health issues go away, but we know that the problem is far more complex. That's why we're here with a comprehensive approach that doesn't skip the steps.
You and I were talking before we came out. You guys had a very nice day today here. Your print 4.8 percent. You're up over 18 percent year-to-date. What do you think have been some of those significant factors driving that growth? You are outpacing the S&P 500 so far this year.
Well what's important for us to understand and for everybody out there to understand is how this business grows. First we focus on productivity per coach. every single coach with the sales of their of the program through their clients when we see those productivity numbers go up and we've been reporting on that consistently once we see that start to go up it means the business is stabilizing it's about to make some good runs and so we think about that in the following way from the profitability perspective when we see increases in productivity happening and we do all of our cost savings initiatives that we've been working hard on inside of the company. Those two things happening at the same time, we believe good things can happen.
Nick Johnson, CEO of MetaFast. Congratulations. Thanks for taking the time for us here on the show today. It's nice to see you. Thanks so much.
