The Race to Connect Tokenized Stocks With Traditional Finance

Tokenized equities are moving closer to traditional market infrastructure as financial firms work to improve liquidity, interoperability and global access to U.S. markets. Yoshi Yokokawa, CEO and Co-Founder of Alpaca, joins Remy Blaire to discuss how tokenization could create new pathways for investors outside the U.S. to participate in global capital markets.

Yokokawa explains how Alpaca’s Instant Tokenization Network is designed to connect tokenized stocks with their underlying traditional securities, enabling redemption into stocks traded on traditional markets. He says strengthening that connection can help create more robust infrastructure and address one of the key challenges facing tokenized assets.

The conversation also explores Alpaca’s new integration with Ondo Finance, which aims to make it easier to move between tokenized stocks and their underlying equities while supporting liquidity and market makers. Looking ahead, Alpaca plans to expand beyond U.S. and European stocks by adding equities from Asian markets and connecting more asset classes to on-chain markets.
