How Streamex Is Changing the Way Investors Access Gold

Gold has traditionally been viewed as a store of value, but Henry McPhie, co founder and Chief Executive Officer of Streamex, says tokenization could transform how investors access and use the asset. Speaking from the New York Stock Exchange trading floor, McPhie explains how Streamex is working to turn gold from an unproductive asset into one that can generate yield.

McPhie discusses GLDY, Streamex’s tokenized gold product, which provides direct exposure to gold while offering an annual yield of around 3.5% through gold leasing. He explains how the yield is generated through a long established real world market rather than crypto staking, while also providing investors with a liquid way to gain exposure to gold.

The conversation also looks ahead to GLDC and its goal of making tokenized gold more accessible to everyday investors. McPhie shares why he believes commodities could be the next major asset class to benefit from tokenization, potentially removing many of the inefficiencies involved in trading, owning, and holding commodities.
