As the US housing market navigates elevated mortgage rates and shifting transaction volumes, real estate and enterprises are evolving to meet new industry demands. While LP Aperture Holdings recently ranked second overall on Deloitte's Tech Fast 500, scaling LP Realty to more than 20,000 agents across North America in just three years, and from nationwide residential services to global luxury expansion and integrated lending technology, the firm is reshaping how modern brokerages operate.
Well, joining us live here at the New York Stock Exchange to talk about what's happening in real estate as well as industry evolution, is Robert Palmer, founder and CEO of LPT Aperture Holdings. Great to have you here. Thank you so much for joining me.
Yeah, Remy, thanks for having me today.
Well, first and foremost, tell us how you managed to scale so quickly when it comes to agents.
Yeah, I think we saw a real need in the brokerage space. You know, we have this principle of agent choice. We believe that agents are amazing entrepreneurs. We have both amazing real estate team leaders and what we call real estate solo practice leaders. And they're building these businesses on our platform.
And what we saw is most real estate brokerages, most real estate tech platforms would ask the agent or the entrepreneur to conform to them. And we said, what if we flip that dynamic and we meet the agent, or the team leader, or the solo practice leader where they are in their business? And so we've been able to attract some of the absolute best folks in the industry onto our platform over the last four years.
I had tremendous growth and just really excited to continue powering their role in the American Dream.
Yeah. And while I have you here, I do want to ask you about what we're seeing right now and what makes your agent model as well as your tech platform so different, especially in a crowded space?
Yeah, I think really, you know, being born later, we're only born in 2022. We're kind of a later entrant. We got to learn from the mistakes that we saw others make as they were building out their technology, as they were building out that platform. I think as the the role of the entrepreneur in real estate has evolved.
And, you know, if you go back in time, the real estate franchise owner was kind of the center of that, that that operating unit where now real estate team leaders and solo practice leaders, which are actual individual agents themselves, are driving the innovation, driving the transactions. And so we built our platform with them in mind.
And so building the platform from the ground up, using more modern technology and making sure that we can meet those agents where they are as then they help their consumers execute on what, for most people is the largest transaction of their life buying or selling a house.
And speaking of which, Robert, while I have you here, I do want to ask you about the global luxury market out there. So tell us about the reality on the ground and where you're expanding right now and why.
Yeah. So when you think about our business, we have the LPT Realty brand, you know, where we serve the US and Canada, and we really have a lot of success there and kind of the median home price point. And then our second brand is Aperture Global, which is a brand built for ultra high net worth individuals that are really looking to figure out how to acquire, acquire properties across multiple countries around the world.
Michael Valdez, who is our CEO of international, spent years at Sotheby's and other companies building out, you know, global luxury. He's opened more countries, I think, than anyone else in this industry. And so the ability to have the flexibility from our platform and to introduce those concept of agent choice and the global platform, because we do see consumers that are considering different countries, you know, they're considering ultra high price point of properties, and that's a much different brand than what we do on the LPT side.
Again, helping that median home price point across the US and Canada. And so we feel like we're really able to serve both markets by having that dual brand on our platform.
Well, Robert, I appreciate your time this morning. Thank you so much for joining us here at the New York Stock Exchange. And thank you so much for sharing your insights.
Thanks very.
Much. Thank you. You as well.
