Bitcoin Is Back in a Bull Market, Says DAiM Founder

Bitcoin has rebounded 40% from its bear market lows over the past two months, while Hyperliquid has pulled back more than 15% from its September all-time high after a strong run. Remy Blaire speaks with Bryan Courchesne, founder of DAiM, about whether crypto is back in a bull market, the path to $1 million Bitcoin, and the outlook for Hyperliquid and XRP.

Courchesne says he firmly believes Bitcoin is back in a bull market, noting that its move over one week in the second half of September was above 20%. With Bitcoin averaging four and a half weeks a year of 15% or greater gains since 2020, and only one so far this year, he expects one to two more, which he says could lift Bitcoin from around $81,500 to about $94,000, or to around $108,000 if there are three. On the $1 million thesis, he argues that mutual funds offering diversified portfolios, such as a 60/40 portfolio with 5% shifted into Bitcoin, could make it easier for advisors to bring clients in within the next few years and create automatic buyers, adding that investors waiting for that shift could miss price appreciation before then.

Courchesne says XRP and Hyperliquid have very different outlooks through 2028, arguing that XRP is aging, faces a newly discovered bug he says could inflate supply, and has lost settlement business to Circle. He calls Hyperliquid, which is nearing two years old under founder Jeff Yan, a trade everything exchange with leverage, pointing to pre-IPO SpaceX derivatives trading on the platform and volume he says is about the same as Binance. On regulation, he says rulemaking from the CFTC and SEC following the failed CLARITY Act cloture vote is providing clearer guidelines for exchanges, broker-dealers, advisors, tokenized assets, and stablecoins, though permanent law would still require legislation.
