Anthropic’s IPO Could Define or Derail the Entire AI Market Cycle

Kamran Ansari, Venture Partner at Infinity Ventures, joins Johny Fernandez at the NYSE as Anthropic reportedly eyes a $2 trillion valuation, and delivers the most grounded read on the AI IPO market available: the door is not open for everyone. It is open for one name, and everyone else is waiting.

His most important observation is on what makes fintech specifically hard to replicate: you cannot open a payment business today and still be in business by Friday because fraud alone will shut you down. Getting from zero to one in any regulated financial business takes 2 to 3 years minimum. That barrier is a moat, and it explains why established fintech names have a durability that pure software plays do not.

On Anthropic’s numbers specifically, his read is direct: the leaked S-1 contains startling figures that do not by themselves justify a $2 trillion valuation. But the growth rate is extraordinary, from $5 to $6 billion in revenue last year to a $70 billion run rate now. That kind of growth at that scale is unprecedented. And if it disappoints, the trickle-down effect on every other company waiting to go public will be severe.
