Islamic Finance and Tokenisation Are a Natural Fit: Here Is Why

Nilanjan Ray, Lead RWA Tokenization at ADI DLT Foundation, and Mohammad Fawad Akber, Head of Structuring and Origination at Zamanat, join Raghda Ibraheem as two of the region’s most experienced voices on Sharia-compliant tokenisation explain why Islamic finance principles and blockchain are built for each other.

Fawad’s most important point is on transparency: tokenisation answers every core Islamic finance question about asset authenticity, ownership registration, and clear transaction structure, all of which must be established before a Sharia board will sign off.

Niranjan’s contribution is on distribution: the Web3 ecosystem is dominated by stablecoins, effectively digital cash. Tokenisation is the bridge that puts that cash to work in real world assets like government bonds, corporate credit, SME lending, and vessel financing, assets that have historically been inaccessible to retail and smaller institutional investors.
