U.S. Futures Slide as Treasury Yields Hit 5.1%

U.S. stock futures are under pressure ahead of the opening bell as Treasury yields climb, with the 10 year Treasury yield around 5.1%. Mark Payton reports from the Cboe trading floor, where traders are watching the impact of higher borrowing costs on equities, particularly small caps and the Russell 2000, while VIX futures point to rising volatility.

The conversation also turns to Meta following its latest event and the company’s push into AI agents and hardware. Payton discusses Muse and the potential impact of AI agents that can shop, book travel and complete tasks on behalf of consumers, potentially reducing the friction that keeps customers with existing banks, insurers, telecom providers and subscription services.

Meta is also expanding its AI hardware lineup with new Ray Ban Meta smart glasses and the Muse Charm. For investors, the focus is on whether Meta can turn Muse into a broader AI hardware ecosystem and how the company’s AI strategy could reshape consumer behavior and technology markets.
