Moonpay Discover, Patreon layoffs, Zodia integration, Coinbase pullback

MoonPay has expanded its payment capabilities by adding Discover Network cards for crypto purchases and sales in the United States, making Discover the third major U.S. card network supported alongside Visa and Mastercard. Meanwhile, creator platform Patreon announced it is reducing its workforce by approximately 20%, with CEO Jack Conte explaining that while the company’s core business remains healthy, changing market conditions and the rapid evolution of AI have required a restructuring. Conte emphasized that the layoffs are not intended to replace employees with artificial intelligence.

Institutional adoption also continues to accelerate. Zodia Custody has integrated with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)and its TCS BaNCS™ securities platform, enabling major financial institutions, including firms that use the platform such as Citi and JPMorganChase to more easily offer digital asset custody and tokenized asset services through their existing banking infrastructure. At the same time, Coinbase is reportedly scaling back its social product ambitions to refocus on its core crypto trading business following weak adoption of its on-chain social features and creator token ecosystem.
