Thunes on Connecting Banks, Stablecoins & the Future of Global Payments

In this interview, Chloé Mayenobe, Deputy CEO of Thunes, joins in to discuss how the company is building the infrastructure needed for a truly connected digital payments ecosystem.

Chloé explains how Thunes’ proprietary global direct network enables seamless payments across 140 countries, 90 currencies, billions of endpoints, mobile wallets, bank accounts, and card networks. By creating direct payment rails, the company is helping bridge the gaps between traditional banking, mobile money, and emerging digital asset ecosystems.

A key focus of the conversation is Thunes’ new pay-to-stablecoin wallet solution, which connects traditional financial institutions with blockchain-based payment networks. Chloé explains how interoperability is at the center of the company’s mission building bridges between banking systems, mobile wallets, and stablecoin infrastructure to enable faster and more accessible global payments.

The discussion also explores the launch of the Thunes Interoperability Index, developed with Juniper Research, which measures the maturity of payment connectivity across regions. Chloé highlights that despite advances in digital payments, significant challenges remain, from cross-border transfers in developed markets to mobile wallet fragmentation in regions like Africa.

Looking ahead, Chloé discusses Thunes’ expansion strategy in North America, including partnerships such as Trolley, real-time payment capabilities in the US, and continued investment in the region. As stablecoins gain momentum globally, Thunes is focused on solving one of the biggest challenges facing digital finance: making different payment ecosystems work together.
